Over 2,500 baby duckies turn the tides yellow as they race to dry land! The first 60 baby ducks to shore win a prize for their owners. The 1st place winner wins $1,000!
At 1,850 feet, the iconic Huntington Beach Pier is one of the longest piers on the West Coast. The pier symbolizes the heart of Huntington Beach and is the most photographed spot in town. The city and pier came into existence together in 1904. Thanks to historic surfing demonstrations, this landmark is integral to the Huntington Beach surfing lore.
Our three-day event raises much needed funds for AltaMed Medical and Dental Group – Huntington Beach, where thousands of uninsured and medically underserved patients are treated every year.
DISCLAIMER: The ducks are dropped from the side of the pier into a controlled area regulated by volunteers on surfboards. About 90 volunteers and spotters are stationed in the area to retrieve all ducks that are dropped in case they drift off. All ducks are also numbered individually so we can account and ensure the safe return of all ducks to shore.
